Sneha Singh receives Madhavrao Scindia Foundation Award

The 21st edition of the prestigious Madhavrao Scindia Golf Tournament concluded at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon on March 16, marking another successful year of competition and philanthropy.

The annual event, established in 2002, has been a key fixture in India’s golfing calendar, drawing over 100 corporate and business leaders who come together for a good cause. The tournament offers two winners of the competition coveted invitations to the week-long Duke of Edinburgh Charity Golf Cup World Finals in London, which includes a round of golf on the Royal Household’s private course at Windsor Castle, followed by a black-tie dinner in the Grand Ballroom with a member of the Royal Family.

This year’s tournament reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to supporting emerging Indian golf talent, with 20-year-old Sneha Singh from Hyderabad receiving the Madhavrao Scindia Foundation Award for the third consecutive time. Singh, India’s No. 1 ranked on the 2023 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour (HWPGT), was awarded a grant of Rs 5 lakh, recognising her consistent performances on the domestic and international circuits. A two time winner on the HWPGT already this year, she also enjoys conditional playing rights on the 2025 Ladies European Tour (LET) through last year’s 5-day Qualifying Tournament finals held in Spain, and on the LPGA’s Epson Tour.

The Madhavrao Scindia Foundation has a legacy of identifying and supporting India’s future golf stars, with past recipients including Mysore’s Pranavi Urs, who finished at the 17th position in the 2024 Ladies European Tour (LET) Rankings as the top-most Indian, former Asian Tour winners Rashid Khan and Chikkarangappa, Olympian and 2-time LET winner Diksha Dagar, and 2016 All India Amateur Champion Arjun Prasad.

The tournament’s impact extends beyond competition, raising funds for the education and medical care of underprivileged families in the Gwalior region. In addition, it continues to provide crucial financial support to promising Indian professional golfers, helping them transition to higher levels of the sport.
