PGTI to start with Pre-Q II from Feb. 7th

The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has announced a busy calendar from Feb to April, and players are hoping that the schedule can go ahead as planned.

The tour will resume activity by completing its remaining two pre-qualifying events and play the Final stages of its Qualifying tournament from Feb. 8-18 at Kalhaar Blues & Greens in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The Q-School’s eighth edition was originally planned to take place from Jan. 7-20, 2022. The Tour was able to complete only the first of its three Pre-Qualifiers before postponing the rest of the events because of the Omicron wave.

The tournament is played in two stages – Pre-Qualifying & Final stage. Roughly 300 golfers compete in the pre-qualifying stage, with 80 advancing to the final stage. There they are joined by the pros who finished outside the top-60 on the previous year’s Order of Merit.

The final is a 72-hole event and offers players tour cards across four categories:

The PGTI schedule so far consists of nine events including a tournament in Bangladesh in March and a new Ballantine’s mixed-pro event in April.
