Delhi’s 14 year old Kartik Singh, who has been on a hot streak this season shot rounds of 69-70-66 , for a total of 8-under 205 , securing a one-shot victory in the Boys 13-14 category at the IMG Academy World Championship 2024 in San Diego, played from July 9-11.
Kartik entered the final round three strokes behind the leader but fired the impressive final round 66 to beat a field of 180 juniors representing 56 countries in his age group.
In the Boys 11-12 category, Danish Verma also an Indian national, but living in California, carded rounds of 69-65-65 ( from forward tees) to win the title by one shot at 14-under 199.Â
The tournament featured over 1200 juniors competing in 10 categories, with five each for boys and girls.
