India’s Kartik Singh and Zara Anand at the venue in Scotland

Teen golfers Kartik Singh and Zara Anand (both from Delhi) represented the Indian Golf Union at the prestigious R&A Junior Open, which concluded a day before The Open Championship in Scotland at Kilmarnock (Barassie course).

14-year-old Kartik finished 6th after starting the final round in 2nd place but a final round of 74 in windy conditions saw him slip to sixth place.

15-year-old Zara carded rounds of 75-77-77, finishing tied-14th at 13-over 229.

Both Kartik and Zara have notable international experience. Kartik recently claimed victories at the Thailand and Singapore Junior Championships, while Zara secured back-to-back runner-up finishes at the FCG Collegiate Series events in Twin Oaks and San Marcos in the USA.

The R&A Juniors, played every 2 years, sees the best players under 16 from all R&A countries invited. The event is played on dates and location close by to The Open championship and all players are taken to watch the Tour stars in action as a special treat.
