
India’s Diksha Dagar, a two-time Olympian and Arjuna Awardee, is showing she belongs on the global stage. Playing her first major of the season, the 24-year-old carded rounds of 71 and 73 to sit tied-29th at even-par at the US$9.75 million AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl, Wales.
The only Indian in the field, Diksha is currently 12th on the Ladies European Tour (LET) Order of Merit with 846.20 points from 15 starts. Her consistent season includes a runner-up finish at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco and five other top-10 finishes.

The field features World No.1 Nelly Korda and Japan’s Ayaka Furue, with 21-year-old Lottie Woad continuing her breakout year. Leading the pack is Japan’s Miyu Yamashita at 11-under after rounds of 68 and 65.
For Diksha, this week is another opportunity to build momentum toward an LPGA transition. A strong weekend could elevate her global standing and reinforce her place among the game’s elite.
