Indian-origin golfer Arrow Aarav Shah has qualified for the 2025 U.S. Amateur after carding a 4-under 66 at Whippoorwill Club in New York, finishing tied for second. Earlier, he shot 68 in the local qualifier in New Jersey, showcasing impressive consistency.
Bound for the University of South Carolina, the 18-year-old is no stranger to high-level competition. At just 14, he became the youngest-ever player in a professional Indian event on the PGTI. Since then, he has won the Bangladesh and Gujarat Amateurs and finished as low amateur at the 2023 Glade One Open.
In March, Shah became the first international winner of the Dustin Johnson Junior World Championship. Last month, he finished co-medalist at the U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier at Chambersburg Country Club in Pennsylvania, draining a birdie on the final hole to tie Ryan Xie of New Zealand with matching 4-under 69s.
Shah now joins a select group of Indian-origin players—such as Akshay Bhatia and Aman Gupta—to qualify for the U.S. Amateur and looks poised for a promising college and amateur career.
